MY SCHEDULE WITH A 10 MONTH OLD

Time management is everything. Here is how I juggle being a mommy, blogger and TV host.

Let me start this post by first saying how much respect I have for all the mamas out there. Whether you are a stay-at-home mom or a mama who works out of the home, motherhood is a full-time job. I tip my hat to you ALL. And for all you single moms… I bow down as low as I can go because I really don’t know how you do it. You’re an angel and don’t let anyone make you feel less than that.

Thankfully, I have a husband who is not only so supportive, but also makes a point to spend quality time with Ollie when he’s not working and helps out around the house any chance he gets.

The secret to juggling it all? My husband. Pure and simple. But… over the past few months I’ve also come up with a pretty good schedule that helps me stay on top of everything.

While every day is different, this is generally what our schedule looks like. I like to think of it as more of a routine. Less scheduled around the hour, and more just of a general guideline on how the day will go.

Some days I go into the TV station and other days I’m at home. I’ve broken that up accordingly when the days split. (You’ll see what I mean if you read on).

So here we go…

MORNING

  • 6:30am: My husband (Mike, or as I affectionately like to call him, “Shmoop”) gets up with Ollie and gives him his first bottle. They spend some time together before Mike needs to hop in the shower for work.
  • 7am: Mike brings Ollie upstairs to wake me up. It’s the best part of my day! We play and snuggle and sing songs.
  • 8am: I feed Ollie breakfast (some kind of fruit) and eat mine too (either Oatmeal or a cereal packed with fiber). Oh.. and coffee. Must have the coffee. I try and practice baby sign language with him. We’ll see how that goes.
  • 8:15am – 9am: Ollie and I crawl around on the floor, play with his puzzles, work on his “cruising” and words.
  • 9am: Ollie goes down for his first nap. I put his sound machine on, give him his favorite elephant and pacifier, hum him a lullaby and rock him for a few minutes before I put him in his crib.
  • 9:15am – 10 or 11am: I answer emails. Plan future blog posts/photoshoots and try and prep for the show as much as possible.
  • 11am: DAY SPLIT – Ollie is up from his first nap by now. When I’m not going into the station I give him his second bottle and we play. On the days I do have to leave, Ollie’s grandma (GG) comes over and I shower, get ready and leave for work. For the sake of this post, I’ll continue this day as if I’m at home…

AFTERNOON

  • 12pm: Ollie eats lunch. Then it’s play time or he goes on a walk or gets out of the house to run errands. Ollie likes being out and about!
  • 2pm: Ollie goes down for his second nap.
  • 2:15pm – 3 or 4pm: If I’m at home I’m either working on blog posts, getting a shower or trying to get some work done around the house (dishes, laundry, etc.) I might also do some try-ons for Instagram and I’m trying now to do my IGTV videos during this time as well.
  • 4pm: Ollie is up from his by now and gets his third bottle.
  • 4:30pm: Daddy is home and we all play on the floor together. I usually arrive home around 5 or 5:30pm on days I work.

EVENING

  • 6pm: Ollie eats dinner.
  • 6:30pm: Bathtime
  • 7-7:30pm: We play in Ollie’s nursery and read his books. One of us will go down to heat his fourth bottle up and we take turns each night putting him to bed. (When it’s my turn, I always sing him Billy Joel’s Goodnight My Angel. I’ve been singing that to him since he was in my tummy. He seems to love it).
  • 7:30pm until 10:30pm: Gimme that wine! Hahah… no but seriously my brain is usually shot by this point. If I was a bomb.com boss babe that day and got all my shiz done, then I’ll have a glass of wine with Mike on the couch or outside and we’ll talk about our day. But, sometimes I have to finish things up to meet deadlines. In that case, I work on my computer and edit photos and answer more emails until bedtime.

When it comes to taking photos for the blog, we fit them in whenever we can. I’ve been trying to plan things for us to do as a family (ex: go to the park, dinner, walks) and then we just bring the camera along. Ollie enjoys being out with us, so that makes it easy. Once he starts walking around… that may be another story.

For the more intricate photos, we will shoot those on the weekends because we have more time.

And that’s what our day looks like! Whenever I’m at home with Ollie, that’s where my focus is. When he’s awake I make sure to give him my attention. Naptime is for work, but other than that I’m just trying to make sure to raise him to be a good boy… and hopefully get him to say “mama” sometime soon 🙂

Love, Lindsey
