I’m a huge fan of monochromatic outfits, but sometimes the tried and true all-black attire can get a little “blah” when you wear it day after day. So… why not try an all gray outfit, AKA the “groutfit”? It’s chic, cozy AND you’re able to layer which means you’ll also stay warm.

The term “groutfit” comes from the fusion of the words “gray” and “outfit” and has become a big trend this winter season. Celebrities and fashion bloggers alike have been seen rocking the groutfit look, which consists of two or more gray pieces to complete a chic monochromatic outfit.
I personally like the groutfit trend because I have a ton of gray in my closet. if you don’t already have a pair of gray jeans… I highly recommend you get some. I’ve been wearing this pair by Etienne Marcel all year (see how else I styled them HERE, HERE and HERE). They’re a little more money, but TOTALLY worth it. They fit in all the right places and have a lengthening effect.
I also love a gray coat because you can wear it with just about anything. I purchased this long-line coat about two years ago and it’s still one of my go-to’s when it gets cold outside. Believe it or not… as hot as it gets in the summer here in Vegas, it gets pretty cold in the winter too. That “dry heat” that everyone talks about… well it goes both ways. A 50 degree day can easily feel like 30 degrees. Then again… maybe I’m just being a baby about it. I mean… I’m from Pittsburgh! I grew up with below zero temps and didn’t bat an eye. Maybe I’m getting soft.
