70’s Style Inspiration: Track jacket and David Bowie tee

I feel like I belong in “The Big Lebowski” or “Dazed and Confused” in this outfit – and I dig it! (And if you don’t… “well ya know… that’s just like – uh- your opinion man”. While the 90’s resurgence has definitely taken over the fashion industry, the 70’s era is also big right now and I hope it stays that way.

Funny story about this jacket… my husband got it from a thrift store in Sacramento years ago and I actually had the gall to make fun of him for it. I regret that now. I have come to see the light and have to give it to him for picking it out such a fun piece. After all, getting dressed in the morning should be exciting. I dress for how I feel that day and for the person I want to be.

I saw this tee at Forever 21 and had to have it. My drawer is completely overflowing with band tees, but I can’t help it! (Is there anything that you can’t say no to in a store?) Besides wearing them with jeans and shorts, they can also dress down a flowy skirt. I never like to look too fancy or too undone. With a sporty outfit I like to throw on some heels. If I’m wearing a feminine dress I’ll add a tough jacket and combat boots or sneakers so as not to look too fussy.  Most of all I just like to be comfortable.
