4 BEAUTY TRENDS & PRODUCTS I DON’T RECOMMEND

I’m always down to try out the latest beauty trend, but sometimes they’re a big MISS. Here are four trends/products that just didn’t do it for me…

Claw nails

Why don’t I look as cool as Rihanna with claw nails?! I tried this trend out for my birthday last year and it was a disaster. I made the mistake of putting them on before doing my hair and makeup and felt like I couldn’t do anything right! It also made texting and typing incredibly difficult. Also… if I’m being 100% real… using the restroom was really difficult. I spent more time than I’d like to admit wondering how Kylie Jenner wipes her butt with these claws on. I’ll stick to my regular short nails from here on out. They’re just more practical (and sanitary!)

Magnetic Eyelashes

What. A. Mistake. I was doing my usual stroll through Target when I saw a section of the beauty isles dedicated to magnetic lashes. I’ve been wearing glue-on strips for years now, and thought it would be a great way to get the look without having to wear eyeliner as well. Umm… no. They start clicking together (you’re real lashes are sandwiched between two magnetic lash strips) before I could even get them into place. They looked obviously fake, and I couldn’t get them close enough to my natural lash line. I even tried cutting the bottom lashes into three sections to make application easier and I still couldn’t get it right. Lesson learned.

Too-nude lips

If I could time-travel and give some advice to 15 year old Lindsey I’d tell her 1. Don’t worry, your boobs will eventually come in and 2. Kock it off with the powdered donut lip look. I would straight up put CONCEALER on my lips and cover with a clear gloss. I know… I’m living in the future too… I now understand how crazy this sounds. TBH, It made me look like a walking corpse. Not cute. I still love nude lips, but opt for at least one shade darker than my normal skin tone or a nude that has a peachy pink tint to it.

MAC Next to Nothing Foundation

I absolutely love MAC makeup, but this foundation fell flat for me. I was kind of bummed because I thought it would be my new summer foundation fave. It felt more like a BB cream than a foundation, but also felt thick on my skin. The coverage was minimal and even layering it on didn’t help. If you like minimal coverage, than you may want to try this. But, if you’re skin is that good to begin with then why mess with foundation in the first place?

Love, Lindsey
