Winterize a summer jumpsuit

Jumpsuit: So sorry it’s sold out! but also would work with this strapless version from Lulu’s –  Top: Forever 21 – Clutch – H&M – (similar here) – Heels: Eva & Zoe
I’m a jumpsuit fanatic for many reasons. For one, they’re super comfortable. I can go out and have a good time without having to worry about crossing my legs all the time. Bonus: I can really get down on the dance floor in this jumpsuit. I actually did a split in this one. Well… I tried. I sometimes forget I don’t have my 13 year old gymnast body anymore. (I’m actually just getting over a pulled hamstring because of it. I blame my husband. He encourages my embarrassing odd behavior.)
But I digress… I also love jumpsuits as an alternative for a dress in the colder months because you don’t have to worry about your pasty white winter legs showing. (Mine could blind you!) But one of my favorite things about them is that you can wear them all year round.
To make this jumpsuit work for the winter months I just threw on a bow blouse underneath in the same color. It almost makes it look like one piece.
How are you wearing your jumpsuits? I’d love to know. Let’s connect! Leave a comment / follow me on instagram @lindsey.simon

Style that baseball tee for work

Top: American ApparelSkirt: old, but similar here and fluted version here) – Clutch: asos (old, but similar snakeskin version found here on Amazon) – Shoes: Mossimo via Target
Welcome to The Nomis Niche! I’m so excited because it’s almost the weekend and my bestie is coming to visit! We’ve been living far apart for about 8 years, but now she lives in California so we get to see each other so much more. I can’t wait!
On to the outfit. I love baseball tees – always have – but I wanted to find a way to wear them to work and not just on the weekends. So I paired this one with a pencil skirt and heels to dress it up a bit. I’ve had this clutch for awhile and loved how the color looked next to the pink.
What do you think?  Want other fashion advice? I’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment and I’ll get back to you 🙂

Suede 70’s

Dress: Zara (sold out – but also like this version from Zara) –  Clutch: Topshop ( Sold out, but similar emerald version found here) – Necklace: Thrifted – Boots: Aldo (old) – Rings: Topshop

Debut of the new chopped cut! I’ve been debating chopping off my hair for a looooong time now. Finally, I decided to bite the bullet and I’m so so so happy that I did. Funny story – as I was walking into the hair salon my boss was finishing up her appointment and she convinced me to finally do it.(Thanks Terri for the added encouragement!) I love how easy it is to fix in the morning! (Let me know in the comments section if you want tips).

As for the outfit… I found this dress at ZARA during their huge ‘end of season’ sale for next to nothing. I couldn’t believe it! I love the 70’s vibe and honestly it just made me really happy. I’m a big believer in dressing for how you feel. I love so many different styles (preppy to rocker), but when I’m dressing for myself and not for work – I’m always in something with a 70’s feel.
Lastly, my current mood: Days start early and the nights are long, but I have this odd feeling like something really great is about to happen. I fully believe that everything happens for a reason and that God will take care of the big concerns. But, I also believe that you can’t just stand by waiting for greatness to enter your life. Props to everyone out there who’s willing to hustle and do everything necessary to make their dreams happen. Keep at it. When you’re working hard for your goal and staying positive you’re only putting that good energy into the universe. The universe will send those positive vibes right back at you like a mirror. Just give it a little time. Let’s make those dreams come true! We got this.
Thank you so much for visiting The Nomis Niche!

Love Your Melon

Hat: Love Your Melon – Sweatshirt: Free People – Purse: h&m – Jeans; Mossimo (old) – Watch: American Eagle – Boots: old

Happy Sunday everyone! I wanted to share some love to the Love Your Melon program. If you haven’t heard of it, let me fill you in! It’s something that’s touched my heart and is also a great way to give back. I also want you to know this is not a sponsored post, but an initiative I believe in and care about.
Love Your Melon is run by college students across the country on a mission to give a hat to every child battling cancer in America. The original “buy one, give one” program helped reserve more then 45,000 hats to donate to children undergoing cancer treatment across America. The LYM Ambassadors delivered these hats to hospitals across the country dressed as superheros. What a cute idea right?
Well now LYM is launching a new program that will provide immediate support for children battling cancer. Fifty percent of net proceeds on every Love Your Melon product sold will be donated to the Pinky Swear Foundation and CureSearch.  Every year 15,000 more American children receive a new cancer diagnosis. This is one easy way you can help in furthering cancer research so we can knock-out childhood cancer for good. If you’d like to request a hat for a child you know, or to purchase some of their product, just head to their website http://www.loveyourmelon.com/
P.S. They’re supposedly launching new products February 1st (tomorrow!)

Pastel Pink Culottes

Culottes: ZARA (sold out online, but they still offer them in blue – also like this pair from ASOS) – Top: Dynamite (old)  -Jacket: hm – Shoes: ZARA (on sale!) Clutch: Express (old) Rings: Topshop (similar TopShop version here)

Took me a little while to get on board with the culottes trend. I kept remembering the cotton gouches I wore in 9th grade. These are different. They’re tailored and actually very wearable. This particular pair could be worn in the winter, spring and summer. This day was warmer than usual so I wore a cropped top and a jacket. I’ve also worn these with a fitted turtleneck. I’ll be wearing them long into the spring and summer, so look for new posts when the time comes.

For those who are interested in my ramblings… here’s how I found my new fave culottes:

I had the best experience that could possibly happen to a person while shopping. I went to return some things, and when I walked into ZARA and found that half of the store was on sale for $12.99. I’m talkin’ trousers, blazers, dresses, shoes, etc. I’ve never really had that runner’s high – you know when the endorphin kicks in – but I imagine this is what it feels like.

I got super dizzy and kept giggling as I repeated to myself, “No.Way. No. Freakin. Way.” I asked the floor saleswoman if I was dreaming and when she told me ‘no they’re just making room for new inventory I gave her a hug. She then looked at me like she thought I was on LSD. (Note to self… not all retail saleswomen are cool with unsolicited hugs. Except for Laura in Macy’s. She likes them). In the end I didn’t care what saleswoman Suzie thought (name changed for privacy… and also because I can’t remember her real name). I just hit the sales jackpot! More posts to come on my findings.

Dark Florals

Dress: Forever 21 –  Boots – Aldo (old, but similar found here at ASOS) – Socks (gifted – similar style found here) –
Purse – H+m – Necklace: Stella and Dot – Rings: Topshop
I love the 70’s vibe of this dress, especially paired with knee-highs and boots. I got these socks awhile back and love how they peek out juuuuuust enough. I also got this necklace about a month ago and loved it so much I gave them as gifts.

LAYERED UP: WEEKEND ERRANDS

Coat: H+M (old) –  Striped shirt: thrifted – Scarf: Target – Jeans: Target – Sunglasses: RayBan – Sneaks: Nike – Purse: Target: Sam and Libby (similar style here)

Wore this while running errands that should have been done a month ago. I finally changed everything over my new married name! That also meant coming up with a new signature. I swear I drew it all over a piece of scratch paper before finalizing everything. Just another example of how I overthink even the tiniest things!
Of course errand running means I’m wearing my trusty Nike sneaks. So versatile! For more posts with my fave comfy kicks click here and here.

Turtleneck Tip: Layer it under a deep V-neck dress

Grey V Neck Dress: Shein.com – Turtleneck: Zara – Boots: Report via Macy’s – Purse: Forever 21

Turtlenecks baby… they’re not for kindergartners anymore! I recently got a few and love thinking up new ways to layer them (Here’s how I styled them with a leather jacket, and with a blazer). I think of them as an alternative to the white button up. They look chic with low cut dresses (like this one), tucked into pencil skirts, and worn with skinny pants like Audrey Hepburn. Just thinking of her makes me want to eat a scone in front of Tiffany & Co.
How are you styling your turtleneck? Let me know!

Long and Gray

Coat: Shein.com – Pants: Nordstrom Rack – Sweater: H+M – Collared white blouse: Banana Republic – Shoes – Nike

Long coats are my THANG as of late and I couldn’t wait to wear this one after I got it in the mail.
The length is great, but my one tailoring snag is that the lapels seem to come up and flap around. Nothing that some stitches can’t fix though.

I stuck to a black and white pallet to go with the gray and since I was running a lot this day I threw on my Nike sneaks (I seriously wear them all the time – here’s another weekend look post I did about them ). They’re proving to be very versatile – which of course I love.
Thanks for stopping by!
