YEAR IN REVIEW & WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2017

I can’t believe 2016 is coming to a close. It’s been such an amazing year and I’m sad to see it go, but I’m so excited to find out what 2017 will bring! Today I wanted to share with you what happened with The Nomis Niche over the past year and what to expect in the new year 🙂

THE BIG DECISION

This was the year I decided to start taking my blog seriously. I started The Nomis Niche in 2014 on blogspot, but never really did much with it. In January of this year I made a resolution to continuously post and spend more time working on the blog. And guess what… it worked! Because of the growth, I decided in April to buy my own domain name, create a blog on wordpress and quit my full time job.

It was definitely difficult at first. I was picking up any freelance and side work I could find to make more money and at the same time I was trying to learn as much about coding as I could. Even though it was hard work, I’ve never once regretted my decision. If you don’t take risks, then you’ll never know what you can accomplish!

I’ve learned a lot in the past year and I hope to continue to grow so I can bring you the best content. I also couldn’t have done it without my my partner in crime, my best friend and the love of my life – my husband, Mike (whom I affectionately refer to as “The Shmoop” in my posts). He’s my number one supporter and always pushes me to keep going. Ladies… find you a man who pushes you to follow your dreams! If I didn’t have his encouragement, The Nomis Niche would have never existed.

TRAVEL HIGHLIGHTS

COSTA RICA

We got married in August of 2015, but waiting to take our honeymoon until March. We went to Costa Rica and had a blast lounging on the beach, zip-lining through the rain forest and snorkeling. Such a great trip! Also – notice the different hair? I went platinum when we got back 🙂

HAWAII

Right after I left my full-time job we took a trip to Hawaii to spend time with friends. It was our first time and one of the greatest vacationswe’ve ever taken! We both can’t wait to go back.

MIAMI

I went to Miami to celebrate my good friend’s bachelorette party. This was another place I’d never seen before and I’m so happy I got to experience it with some of my closest girls. #blessed 😉

CALIFORNIA

We have some friends and family in California, so it’s always nice to go and visit them. From Santa Monica to Laguna Beach we always love getting out of the desert for a little while and taking in the California lifestyle. Our stomachs always end up hurting by the end because we laugh so hard on these trips.

YOUTUBE

This year I also decided to start a YouTube channel! My first video was my 10-minute everyday makeup routine. I also did some Halloween makeup tutorials. I hope to have a lot more coming in 2017 (with better quality too – ha!), so be sure to subscribe!

WHAT’S TO COME

One thing I hope to accomplish in the new year is to bring you better content! Not just pictures of what I’m wearing, but tips on how to style certain pieces multiple ways.

I also hope to do more giveaways because you all are so amazing and deserve to win some killer swag.

Another thing you can expect to see more of is videos! I’m busy coming up with different videos showcasing my personal style, beauty tips and our travels. If you have any suggestions please let me know! You can leave a commet below or subscribe to my email list (sign up form is below). I’d love to hear from you!

On a personal note… we’re about to move! We’ve been wanting to get into a bigger place for awhile now, and this is the year we’re finally going to make it happen. We’re in the early stages now, but I can’t wait to decorate our new space and show you our new home 🙂

THANK YOU!

I can’t end this post without telling you how grateful I am. Every comment, share, like means the world to me – and it’s because of you that I’m able to do what I love. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and I can’t wait to spend the next year and many more to come with you!

Love, Lindsey
