Leopard and Floral

I love mixing prints, and one of the easiest ways is with leopard and floral. Truthfully, leopard print shoes in general can be considered a neutral and pretty much go with anything. With work, I typically have to wear fitted dresses (as flowy clothing tends to not look so good on air) and they usually need to be bright colors. But this dress adds a little something more – without being too busy in front of the camera.

Bungalow Clothing

This is Lauren – she owns her own modeling agency here in Vegas and I’m pretty sure she’s killing it. I just met her at this event and she’s as sweet as can be!
Dress: J Crew Shoes: Chloe

Here’s Jennifer! One of the talents behing Bungalow Clothing. I loooove her style.

I was invited to this get together at Vdara here in Las Vegas on behalf of Bungalow Clothing and was stunned with all the amazing clothes/accessories they have. Plus, anyone that offers you a glass of wine when you walk in the door is the perfect host in my eyes.
For those of you that don’t know, Bungalow is a company that basically sends you items to try and whatever you don’t like you send back. Whatever you DO like, they just put it on your card and you keep. You can either pick things out from their website, or they have their stylists send you a “cart” of clothes. They pretty much just bring the dressing room to you. Plus, you don’t have to pay for shipping!
This would be perfect for the lady who doesn’t really have time to go shopping, hates trying clothes on in dressing rooms, and wants their own personal stylist. They’re also incredibly talented at putting things together.
So how do they know what you like? You just fill out an online style profile on their website. Seriously takes 10 seconds – and it’s free! Check it out!
P.S. Tomorrow’s Friday! Time to celebrate.

I recently celebrated a birthday and my incredible boyfriend got me a brand new camera! Actually, it’s the ONLY really good camera I’ve ever had so you can imagine how excited I am. We went out today to try it out and I’m pleasantly surprised. It really makes a difference and I couldn’t be happier.
The rest of the Bday was great. We went to our favorite local casino and… well… lost. But it was fun! In fact, the two guys sitting next to us were sharing birthdays too- how weird. I checked their IDs because I didn’t believe them, but it was true. If I’m being incredibly honest, I do NOT like celebtrating my birthday with anyone else. It’s selfish I know, but these guys were great – and we all had a blast.
Anyways – enough about me. I hope you all have a great week – and make sure to check back soon! With the new camera – you can bet there will be a lot of new posts to come.

Weekend Hangout

I hope you all had a ‘egg-celent’ Easter!(See what I did there? Cheesy puns are kind of my thing. If you’re still reading – thanks for dealing with the Dad humor). Ours was sooo nice – except for one thing. We tried a new church and the sermon was – uh – unusual?! I typically love Easter Sunday because it’s such a happy time! But, somehow the pastor managed to spend the entire time talking about death, the downfall of the economy and… are you ready for this… Adolf Hitler?! I’m serious. The bright side is the ladies we sat next to were so sweet and incredibly welcoming.
Afterwards we had some good grub at my boyfriends’ parents house and hung by the pool. All in all a good day. To make things even better – my mom sent us a package filled with Easter eggs, candy and a note from the Easter bunny. It was signed “Easter Bunny.” (Christmas presents are also signed by Santa, and my mom reminds us that “he’s always watching.” Moms. They’re the best).
While I’m on the topic – each holiday we always get toothbrushes. Stockings, Easter Baskets, Birthdays… always a new toothbrush. It’s become sort of a tradition.
Do you have any Easter traditions? Let me know!

Festival Fashion with a kimono top

Shorts: Free People (sold out, similar here ) // Hat: Forever 21 // Tee: Old from h&m
Necklaces: Express (I tore all the stones off and put them on different length chains) //
Bracelets: American Eagle and Urban Outfitters //  Sandals and Kimono: Target!
Seeing every one’s Coachella pics has me in the festival fashion mood. While I’ve never been to the Cali event – I HAVE been to Bonnaroo in Tennessee and it was one of the greatest experiences ever!
Saw this kimono and it reminded me of Stevie Nicks so I snatched it up. (P.S. as I’m writing this I’m listening to “Gypsy” by Fleetwood Mac – on full volume).
I hope wherever you are the sun is shinin’ and you’re soaking it all in.

Model street style

1. Alexa Chung: “The short story”

 2. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: “Put a lid on it”

 3. Miranda Kerr: “Bag it up baby”

 4. Kate Moss: “Neutral Nancy”

Whether they’re strutting down a sidewalk or killing it on the catwalk, let’s face it, models just get it right. I mean – I guess the skills they learn on the job SHOULD trickle down into their lives, right? But these lovely ladies have got to be my fave four. And if you watch them close enough (in a totally non-creepy way of course) you’ll notice they have particular go-to’s. Like a uniform – only way cooler than any uniform I’ve ever worn! (my brain just did a flashback to my Firehouse Subs visor and apron I wore during college. Yikes!)

1. Alexa Chung tends to go for mini skirts or shorts. And if I had her legs – I think I’d live in them.

2. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley makes me want to start a hat collection of my own. Whether it’s a fedora or a wide-brimmed 70’s style topper – it just makes the outfit look so much more pulled together.

3. Miranda Kerr shows how easy it is to turn a somewhat simple outfit into something totally chic just by adding a colorful bag.

4. Kate Moss wears a lot of neutrals – and a formula I’d like to call T.B.H.S. (tee-blazer-heels-skinnies) It could also stand for Trendy Brits High School – in which case Alexa and Rosie would have probably graduated from there too – summa cum lade.

Happy Thursday everyone – only a few more hours til’ the freakin’ weekend !

Radiant Orchid – Color of 2014

Pantone’s color of the year is “Radiant Orchid”. And I’m so happy because I have basically no purple in my wardrobe – and this means stores will be pumping out items in this color by spring / summer. (yay!) Not everyone likes to dress head to toe purple so I’ve found a few (inexpensive) ways you can be on trend without going coo coo color crazy.
1. This dress by Calvin Klein would be perfect for work. It stands out but isn’t overwhelming. For a simple look – wear it with turquoise jewelry and some nude shoes. For a little more “umph” try a larger statement necklace – and some metallic shoes.
2. I actually own a similar purse like this one from ASOS  and wear it when I’ve got a neutral outfit on for some pop. I like this one because it’s inexpensive, simple and small enough to carry around if you’re, say, running errands.
3. Equipment blouse. This would be the alternative to the shirt dress if you didn’t want to wear as much of the color. Again, I’d pair it with a big necklace and maybe a blazer / jeans or skinny pants.
4. Caitlin from the blog A little dash of darling nails it with this! She paired a radiant orchid skirt with a jean jacket and striped shirt (and who doesn’t already have that in their closet? If you don’t – go out and buy them… after reading this of course).
5. To all you commitment-phobes out there… nail color is the EASIEST way to rock a new trend. It’s cheap – plus… if you don’t like it… just take it off!
6. These shoes from ASOS are perfect! I’d pair them with a navy dress – or actually anything! This color actually goes with a lot. (navy, turquoise, mustard, blue, emerald, grey, black, white…)
