THREE WAYS TO UPDATE YOUR WINTER WARDROBE

It’s easy to fall into a winter weather wardrobe rut. It’s natural to start to gravitate towards the same old outfit over and over – but it doesn’t have to be that way! Today I want to share some simple steps you can take towards updating your closet and feeling excited about getting dressed again.

SHOP MY LOOK

Sweater: SHEIN // Jeans: TOPSHOP // Coat: SHEIN (similar HERE and HERE) // Boots: Aldo (similar HERE) // Bag: VIPme // Sunglasses: RAY-BAN)

TIP ONE: Embrace classic pieces with new silhouettes

Sweaters are of course a major winter staple and right now there are so many different options to choose from. I love this ruffle bell-sleeve sweater from Shein because it’s unique yet subtle. When it comes to jeans… you could try out the embroidered trend, the kick flare cut, and my PERSONAL favorite – the high waisted jean (I’m wearing Topshop’s Jamie Jean).

TIP TWO: Get a coat you love

You’ll most likely be wearing a coat all winter, so why not pick one you’ll love! It’s the first thing people see on you – so why not make a great impression. I have my typical black and gray coats, but a camel version is just as versatile and looks a little less dreary. If you’re into color – go ahead and get a bright coat!

TIP THREE: Stylish staples

Booties are by far my favorite shoe to wear in the winter. Since I know I’ll be wearing them a lot, I try and find booties that have a little flare – like edgy buckles are interesting textures. A little extra detail goes a long way and definitely makes a statement.

I hope these tips helped!

How do you keep your winter outfits fresh and interesting? Do you have tips for getting out of a winter wardrobe rut?

Love, Lindsey

      Thanks so much Jessi! 🙂

  1. Love the sweater and the booties – definitely staples are great to have for & can make an outfit so unique! xoxo <3

  2. I love the look of that coat! It´s so pretty and really something different between all the greys & blacks. I bought a dusty pink coat earlier this year & I absolutely love it. Due to the really cold temperatures here in Germany though it had to take a little backseat for now though. I´ll definitely get it out once the weather is mild again though!

Thanks so much Lisa! We’re lucky that it’s not too cold here in Las Vegas so this is the heaviest coat I need. Stay warm!

  5. I absolutely adore that sweater, it’s gorgeous! I also love your tips on styling during the winter, too. I love booties as well and I tend to look for unique styles because they can really help to elevate an otherwise simple outfit. I also try to add at least one new piece of outerwear each year to my collection because since we’re all bundled up for a few months, it’s nice to switch up the look and vibe every so often; I love the coat you’re wearing here! Thanks so much for sharing, girlie, and I hope you’re having a great week so far!

Thanks Jalisa! I try and do the same thing with coats. Add at least one new one each year. We don’t get to wear coats that often around here, but being from Pittsburgh it’s a habit! Thanks so much for your sweet comment 🙂

  6. SheIn has really stepped up their game! I’ve been eyeing this sweater in the off white. Nice to see it on a real person:)
