TRAVELING WITH NEUTRALS

While the weather in Las Vegas is nice and sunny, I’m heading back to Pittsburgh this week to visit family. That means I’ll need to break out my sweaters and jackets one more time. You may have seen a recent post about how I plan to add more color into my wardrobe, but whenever I’m traveling I like to stick with the basics so I can create multiple outfits using only a few pieces. This particular outfit is what I like to call the “classic combo”.

In a recent post I mention how I’m introducing more color into my wardrobe. But, when it comes to traveling – basics and neutrals are your best friend.

While I still love my skinny jeans, (my favorite pair is from Topshop) I like to travel with some slouchy boyfriend jeans as well. They’re comfortable and you can dress them up with some heels or go for the more casual look with sneakers or mules. I also ALWAYS pack a faux leather jacket when I’m traveling somewhere colder. I particularly love the fringe detail on this moto jacket from because it adds a little something extra, and also has a boho and western feel to it. The last bit to create the “classic combo” is a comfy sweater. I love camel sweaters because they look chic when paired with other neutrals like black, white, gray, navy, etc.

  1. Great outfit, I love the jacket and heels! A leather jacket and soft jeans are my go-to travel outfit for short flights, but if it’s longer than a few hours I gotta switch to leggings.

I also tend to do the same thing when travelling – this way you have to pack less and everything goes with everything!
