STYLING JEANS & A TEE 4 DIFFERENT WAYS

First of all… can we all just give two thumbs WAY up for the end of Mercury Retrograde?! (More on that later. I swear I’m not a weirdo, but seriously these past few weeks have been SO out of the norm – I have to share). But, for now I’ll talk about the main point of why you’re here… FASHION. One of the best parts about being a fashion blogger is that I get to meet a lot of great women who share my same passions. This was a fun shoot where a few of us got together to show off our own personal style…

If you follow me on Instagram and Snapchat then it should come as no surprise that I’m completely obsessed with the jeans and tee look. But, to amp up the outfit I always like to add a little something extra like an accessory or jacket to take it from boring to BAM!

For this look I wore my favorite Topshop cropped skinnies with my ultimate white tee (it’s the perfect fit and length!) and paired it with a grey bomber jacket and a bandana (I’ve been throwing bandanas on with just about every outfit. I can’t stop!) To add a little more edge I chose to wear my DIY studded heels (for a how-to on how I made them click here).

It was so much fun collaborating with these girls and getting to know them in person. It’s seriously one of the biggest benefits of becoming a blogger. I love meeting inspiring women and connecting with them on a deeper level. I can’t wait to get together with them again and connect with even more bloggers in the area!

Now to the whole “Mercury Retrograde” comment…

When I first heard about it I’ll admit, I thought it was totally hokey. But, before I get ahead of myself… here is what Mercury Retrograde actually is… (google definition)

” because Mercury rules communication, clear thinking, truth and travel, so when the planet goes retrograde — which means that it looks like it’s going backwards in the sky — all those things go backwards. They start to get ugly and tangle up.”

Ok… seems weird right? Well… since Mercury Retrograde started… there have been several issues we’ve dealt with regarding communication and technology…

My brand new iPhone died for no reason. I lost everything – including hilarious videos of Mike dancing and doing his Christopher Walken impressions. I know for sure I backed that shiz up on the iCloud, but they said I didn’t. What the heck am I supposed to use as blackmail now?! (I kid… but seriously…) Chalk it up to Mercury Retrograde.

For no reason at all our dishwasher broke. Best Buy and Sears LOVE us right now. That’s sarcasm if you can’t tell. MASSIVE communication issues with them. We’ll be happy if we aren’t banned from their stores. Meh…. Chalk it up to Mercury Retrograde.

Then, the stop-lights stopped working on our road and we saw three wrecks. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but there WAS this one accident when the guy sped off after yelling at the cops (that one was actually fun to watch. I feel guilty saying that). Whatevs. Chalk it Mercury Retrograde.

Also… Mike (otherwise known as “Shmoop” if you follow me on Snapchat) said that they put tomatoes on his Taco Bell cheesy gordita crunch when he SPECIFICALLY asked them not and chalked it up to Mercury Retrograde. I’m pretty sure he was making fun of me at this point though. (Side-note to self: we need to scale back on the late night Taco Bell runs.)

Well friends… if you made it through my ramblings I really do appreciate it. I’m just pumped that this time of the year is over with and I expect great things to happen in the next few months! As always… thanks for stopping by!

Love, Lindsey
