If I were to create a capsule wardrobe for spring, a trench coat would definitely be part of that collection. It’s a classic piece that will never go out of style. Plus, it has the ability to pull together any outfit.

THE SPRING CLOSET STAPLE
The trench coat has LONG been a spring staple piece, and what’s great is there are so many options out there! I personally love the longline beige or camel trench because you can wear it with just about any outfit.
HOW TO STYLE THE TRENCH COAT
You can style it how I did here with a pair of jeans, a striped tee and some heeled mules. It also looks great with a midi dress peaking out the bottom and strappy heeled sandals. For an edgier look, throw it over sweats with a pair of killer sneakers. When the warmer months hit, you can wear it over a button down blouse and shorts with flat mules. There are honestly so many different options.
AN ADDED BONUS!
In addition to being a classic closet staple, the trench coat also makes a great maternity piece! I’ve been purchasing a few longline trench coats and dusters lately because they cover more of my body, but still allow for my bump to show through. They’re also really lightweight, which will be nice when the warmer weather hits.
