“Tell me about it…STUD”

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope you’re all having a fantastic weekend!
I wore this outfit last night. We went to Red Rock Casino to check out Zowie Bowie, which was SO much fun. Had to ditch the jacket though as my dance moves increase my body temperature to 1,000 degrees.
These studded shoulder attachments are my new favorite thing!
They have pins underneath, which means you can attach and reattach them to anything you want!
It can make any blazer/shirt/sweater that much more exciting!
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers!
Lindsey

Let’s break the rules, shall we?

Throw on a scarf and a blazer:

Wear with boots and a sweater:

Go all out and rock head to toe white:

Black and white never goes out of style:

Rules were meant to be broken, ok? Especially in today’s fashion world where basically anything goes and not only is it appreciated, it’s adored! Think about it, Socks with heeled sandals. Monochromatic outfits. It’s all fashionista approved and has been copied again and again, not only on the runways, but on the street and in magazine spreads.
So… I will ABSOLUTELY be breaking the “no white after Labor Day” rule and rocking my white jeans / dresses well into the winter. Here are a few of my favorite ways to do it.
1. With a scarf and blazer: Just treat your white jeans like regular denim. Throwing on a scarf and a blazer instantly makes it ok for the fall / winter. Just make sure your shoes are weather appropriate. I particularly love blue/navy blazers with camel/brown/tan accents. I think burnt orange, red, maroon and olive are great with white as well.
2. Throw on a sweater: So simple! I think as long as you steer clear of bright summer colors any sweater will work. If you want to add a little pop, wear it in layers. For instance, a green button up underneath a gray sweater gives you a little color, without looking out of place for the season.
3. Head to Toe: I loved this look in the summer, and I’m not about to give it up. Instead of a tank and sandals, throw on a white button up, sweater, white coat, etc. Layering is what I think makes the “head to toe white” in the winter look incredibly chic. For a little color, do just like you did in the summer and add pop with your accessories.
 4. Black and white baby: Black and white is always chic. You know this. If you want to wear your white dress in the fall/winter just throw on some black tights, killer black booties / heels and a black jacket.
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers,
Lindsey

FALLing for these fall 2014 trends

Pale Blue Everythannng…

The New Plaid…

I Plead ‘Quilty’…

I’m so excited for NYFW to start (two more days!). In the meantime, here are a few of my favorite fall fashion trends I’ve been seeing a lot of lately. I also tried to find budget friendly pieces that can be easily incorporated into a wardrobe.

Pale Blue Everythannng:
Pastels aren’t just for spring anymore! I’m loving this color, ESPECIALLY for the winter. I’ve seen it on shoes, bags, pants, tops, scarves… you name it!

Pale Blue coat: ZARA
Dress: Asos
Shoes: Asos
Pants: Asos

The New Plaid:
This season’s plaid looks less Catholic school girl, more modern sophistication. I especially like the print on coats and scarves.
Plaid coat: Free People
Plaid dress: BCBGeneration
Plaid big print scarf: LTC

I Plead “Quilty”:
I love mixing fabrics, especially for the fall/winter because it allows you to layer up, but adds something a little extra to your outfit. And it’s not just on skirts anymore! I love the quilted bomber jacket by Asos. I’ve already put it in my online shopping bag 🙂

Quilted Purse: Lulu’s
Jacket: Asos
Skirt in lion print: h+m
Skirt in black: Banana Republic

MY BEAUTY BUYS

Welcome to MAJ (Makeup Junkies Anonymous).
My name is Lindsey, and I’m a makeup addict (Hiii Lindseyyy…).
Now that this meeting has started, let me start by saying, I come by it honestly.
Growing up I would drool over my mom’s enormous makeup drawer. Not literally because that’s gross. But I would play with all the different lipsticks, eye shadows and blushes. Truth be told… I still do!
Then when I got to college, living in a sorority house enabled me to try out a bunch of different products. I’ve found that more money doesn’t ALWAYS mean better quality. So here are my favorites!
1. Urban Decay Eye Shadow Pallet in “Naked 3” – I have blue eyes so I typically stick with browns, golds and taupes – making this pallet perfect for me! I discovered it through my friend while we were all getting ready for a wedding. All the colors are beautiful, and it’s high pigment meaning you don’t need to put a ton on so it lasts for a long time.
2. NARS blush/bronzer duo in “Orgasm” & “Laguna” –  This is the BEST by far. Both colors look so natural together, like you just got off the beach. If you don’t want to float the dough – there’s also a cheaper version by e.l.f. The bronzer is very similar, but the blush is a little pinker, so I just use it sparingly.
3. O.P.I. nail polish in “Lincoln Park After Dark” – Been wearing this color for years. It looks a little more purple in the picture than it does on my nails. Two coats give you a deep purple color which I find gorgeous!
4. Lancome Liquid Eyeliner – I’ve tried a lot of different liquid eyeliners and this one is by far my favorite. The applicator tip is just fine enough so you don’t have to be an artist to make it look good. It also stays on all day long.
5.Maybeline’s “The Colossal” Volume Mascara – I’ve had expensive mascaras from the makeup counter and cheaper versions from the drug store but, I keep coming back to this. Every girl in my group of friends uses this. It makes your eyelashes super thick and lengthens at the same time. I don’t know why, but it seems like it adds some curl too. I never use an eyelash curler when I use this product.
6. Revlon Photo Ready Foundation – With my job, I go through foundation pretty quickly. So, I don’t like to spend an arm and a leg on it. This one has great coverage without breaking the bank. It also looks great in pictures.
7. “High Beam” highlighter by Benefit – You know how J.Lo always looks so dewy in all her photos? This is what High Beam does for you. (Although it won’t give you her bangin’ bod or gorgeous hair – bummer). I like to swipe a little on my cheeks and in the corners of my eyes.
8. MAC lipstick in “Velvet Teddy – If you’re looking for the perfect nude shade this is it. I’m actually out of it right now, but love it so much I use a lip brush to dig color out of the bottom of the tube. Fun tip: there’s a lot more product in the bottom! I haven’t needed to buy a new tube in a month and a half.
Thanks for stopping by!

The Cranberries

Rompers and jumpsuits are my FAVORITE thing to wear. They’re incredibly easy and you look so pulled together.
My advice for picking one that’s right for you? Make sure it’s structured enough so that it doesn’t look like you’re wearing a parachute, but not skin-tight either (an image of “Catwoman” just popped into my head. However, if Michelle Pfieffer and her killer body is in the catsuit it’s ALWAYS acceptable.
As for the clutch – I got it from a friend of mine, and decided to embellish it with some sequins and gems I found at Hobby Lobby. However, it’s looking a little rugged lately. Think I need to do a little refurbishing.

Romper: Double Zero

Lindsey’s Love List (Under $50 edition)

1. Army Green Romper

2. Nautical Rope Necklace
3. Colorful Clutch

4. Frayed mint jacket

5. Abstract Print Heels

Ok, I admit it!  It’s been awhile since my last post, but things have been super busy around here!I haven’t had time to upload any looks yet. But they’re coming! In the meantime… I’m posting a few pieces that I’m loving right now… and everything is under $50! Ladies who are on a budget rejoice!

1. Army Green Romper: It’s as hot as a flaming faijta plate outside. (You know, the ones that they tell you to be careful with because they’re scorching and you touch it anyway because you have issues with being told what you can and cannot do). Anyhoo…if there’s one thing I like to wear when I feel like avoiding a heat stroke – it’s rompers. This one from sheinside.com caught my eye because it’s somewhat structured and you can restyle it for the fall. And at under $20? Hello! You’d get your money’s worth after one wear! It will also pair nicely with gold jewelry… which brings me to my next “love piece”…

2. Nautical Rope Necklace: This gorgeous necklace is from BaubleBar’s new collection – and it’s inspired by their social media director Grace Atwood, who grew up in Cape Cod! I especially love it because it would look great alone OR with other layered necklaces. P.S. it’s only $38.

3. Colorful Clutch: Found this gem on pixiemarket.com. I love big clutches because I’m a pack rat and I need my things. This one will work with bold color dresses or even just jeans, heels and a white tee. Only $38. (This clutch is similar to the turquoise version I posted on Nomis Niche here and here.)

4. Frayed Mint Jacket: I love this jacket from Zara because it’s structured and is really easy to incorporate in your wardrobe. Best part? It’s on sale! Originally $89.99 – now it’s $39.99!

5. Abstract Print Heels: I’ve been looking for tribal print heels for awhile now. Believe it or not,  I found what I was looking for on gojane.com for under $30! I’d pair them with a midi-length skirt and a crop top with a bright clutch.

Hope you all are having a great start to your week!
Love,
Lindsey
