THE “NON-COACHELLA” COACHELLA OUTFIT

If you read my last post, then you know my feelings about festival fashion. While I love all the Coachella outfits, I also feel like it can get a bit “costumey” at times. So, I decided to create a music festival-friendly look that you can create using pieces you may already have in your closet and that you can wear IRL as well.

CHAPTER ONE: THE PERFECT DENIM SHORTS

I’m always on the hunt for the perfect denim shorts. Most times I find they’re either too short (I’m not really into showing my lower butt-cheek cleavage, but that’s just me) or they’re too loose in the and too tight in the thigh-department.

Most times I just end up cutting a pair of old boyfriend jeans and those are my shorts for the summer. however, I do really love this high-waisted pair from h&m (order one to two-sizes up). They’re high enough to reach the smallest (and most flattering) point of my waist – which is difficult considering I have an abnormally long torso. This pair also doesn’t creep up my butt-crack, which is SOOOO annoying.

Outside of these h&m shorts, I’ve found that Free People and Levi’s make amazing shorts that seem to flatter most body types.

CHAPTER TWO: THE SIMPLE WHITE TEE

I’ll be honest… I don’t even know where I got this tank. It doesn’t have a tag anymore because it kept popping out. Strangers kept coming up to me and tucking it in, so I snipped that shiz.

I really like slouchy tanks and tees. They’re flattering and give off this laid-back “I don’t even care” type of vibe, which is perfect for Coachella. I’ve linked some other comfy-cozy cool-girl slouchy tanks and tees below.

CHAPTER THREE: THE DUSTER FACTOR

I’m all about floor length kimonos and dusters lately. You can wear them with jeans, skirts or shorts. This one from A’GACI is light enough that I’ll be able to wear them during those chillier nights.

CHAPTER FOUR: GLADIATOR SANDALS AREN’T DEAD YET

Honestly, I thought this trend would’ve died off about three years ago. Low and behold… I’m still loving the style. If you’re purchasing a pair for Coachella, I highly recommend buying one that has a firm back zipper. I bought a pair that was all lace-up and they kept coming untied.

CHAPTER FIVE: INVEST IN SOME SUNNIES

There is no shame in purchasing a pair of $8 sunglasses, (see my post on cool-girl approved sunnies under $100 HERE) but it’s also important to have a nice pair that you can wear over and over again. I splurge on very few things, but the pieces I don’t mind spending money on are sunnies, shoes, bags and jeans.

Love, Lindsey
