Happy Holidays friends! We’re here in Pittsburgh celebrating with family and friends and enjoying every stankin’ minute of it. Christmas Eve is tomorrow and Hanukkah starts as well, but if there’s one outfit that I’m planning it’s my New Year’s Eve gettup.

WHY I LOVE PLANNING MY NEW YEAR’S EVE OUTFIT
With the exception of last year’s sequin dress (I was feeling EXTRA festive) I don’t normally wear a lot of sparkle. Instead, I like to add subtle touches of glitz and glam, like an embellished blazer. I love to dress up on New Year’s Eve because I believe if you ring in the New Year feeling good, then you’ll be feeling good the majority of the new year as well.
THE STATEMENT BLAZER
A statement blazer can take a regular all-black outfit and turn it into an outfit that’s party-ready and a great outfit option for NYE. I chose to keep the outfit black and gold and added a gold clutch and heeled sandals. I also like wearing leather pants because 1) They’re warm 2) They allow me to live out my Sandra Dee dreams 3) They’re flattering and sexy without being TOO sexy. You know what I mean?
That’s just my personal opinion though. If you want to go full-blown Jessica Rabbit and wear a curve-hugging dress… go for it! I just prefer pants because they allow me to get down on the dance floor and I don’t have to “sit like a lady” the entire night.
What are you planning on wearing this New Year’s Eve? Do you have any fun plans? I’m still not sure what we’re doing, but I definitely know we’re doing SOMETHING! It’s the first time in six years that I don’t have to wake up early to go to work the next day. Follow along on Snapchat and Instagram (@thenomisniche) to see what we end up getting into 🙂
