I get a lot of questions about what makeup I’m wearing, my favorite products, and what brand’s I’m loving at the moment. So, today I wanted to share my beauty bag staples and why I love them so much. P.S. They also make great gifts!

FOUNDATION

There are a lot of foundations out there, but my favorite formula is full-coverage. It looks best on camera and gives me the smooth finish I’m looking for. I’ve listed these in order from the most coverage to the least. The Estee Lauder Double Wear seriously makes my skin look like a doll! I use it in the color Ivory Nude. Then, we have MAC Studio Fix, which has a bit of a matifying effect and looks great on camera. Lastly, there’s MAC Pro Longwear. I tend to wear this for everyday foundation because it’s extremely moisturizing, which I need here in the Las Vegas desert! It’s also buildable, so you can put a little on, or a apply in layers for more coverage.

POWDER/BRONZER

I’ve always been told by makeup artists to set my foundation with powder. However, sometimes translucent powder looks white under the flash of a camera and other tinted powders make me feel like a cake-face. That’s why I like MAC Next to Nothing powder. It’s like the perfect mix of both, and helps keep my makeup on all day long. If you’re looking for a great contour pallet, I highly recommend this one by Sephora. It works with most skin types and offers a variety of shades. Lastly, my new favorite bronzer! After I use the Sephora pallet, I take a big fluffy brush ad dust my Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess over top. It helps blend everything together and has a beautiful effect, with just enough shimmer to give you a natural glow.

HIGHLIGHTER/BLUSH

I’ve become a highlight NUT. I like to apply it to my foundation, on the bridge of my nose, on my Cupid’s bow, on my cheekbones – EVERYWHERE! For small spaces, I really like my Burberry highlighting stick and High Beam by Benefit. My top two powder options for cheekbones are Burberry Beauty Fresh Glow Highlighter and Too Faced Candlelight Glow. They go on beautifully and offer just the right amount of shimmer. When I want to get an all-over glow, I mix a few drops of Marc Jacobs Beauty Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in with my foundation and use my beauty blender to apply. And while I don’t wear a lot of blush, when I do I like to use Nars in Orgasm. It’s a beauty bag staple and looks great on just about every skin tone!

EYES

I’ve tried more eyebrow pencils and mascaras than I can count, so when I find one I love, I stick to it. Maybellie’s Volum’ Express Colossal Mascara is my absolute favorite mascara for everyday use. I also love LashFood’s BrowFood Aqua Brow Duo Powder Pencil Duo. It’s so easy to use! When it comes to eyeliners, I usually use a brown pencil as it looks more natural and not so hash against my blue eyes. However, I still like to use my MAC liquid eyeliner on my upper lid. I always apply my MAC prolongwear paint pot on my eyelids as a primer before applying eyeshadow. For cool colors, I use my Dior High Fidelity Pallet. For warmer colors, I use the Ofra’s Radiant Eyes Pallet. And for a mix of both, I love Urban Decay’s Naked 2 Pallet. Also, if you’re looking for a new concealer, I highly recommend Mally’s See The Light Concealer.

LIPS

No face is complete without some lipstick! I have two makeup bags PACKED with different stains, sticks and glosses, but these are the products that I receive the most questions/compliments on. First, is my go to, MAC in Whirl. It’s dark nude with just a little bit of pink and looks great with every outfit! Another great nude is NYX Liquid Suede in Brooklyn Thorn (I also like the color Soft-Spoken). For a traditional red, I use MAC in Ruby Woo. For a deep red I like MAC in Diva. For a long lasting red, NYX Liquid Suede in Kitten Heels is my go-to. I also love Dior Addict Lip Maximizer. I hear Sara Jessica Parker doesn’t go anywhere without it!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed putting it together! Also, I want to let you know that I’ve put a tab at the top of my blog (“Shop” – “My Makeup”) so you can easily come back an check out my beauty bag favorites at any time!
Love, Lindsey
