FOR THE FRILL OF IT: LIGHT BLUE RUFFLE DRESS

Last fall it was all about statement sleeves. Now, we’re seeing ruffles on everything from tops to dresses, skirts, even shoes! Here’s a simple summer look that is perfect for work, date night, or any other event you may have on your agenda.

SHOP MY LOOK

This post is going to be pretty quick because we’re busy moving into our new home! Yay! It’s been a little hectic, but definitely exciting. I hope to do more posts in the future on the decorating process. I have about 30 paint swatches sitting in front of my at the moment. Twelve of which are different shades of white. I had no idea there were so many options! #HopeIPickTheWhiteOne #DadJoke

Now, on to the outfit…

Well-placed ruffles can be just as impactful as a piece of statement jewelry. I love how the ruffles are a bit understated on this Rebecca Taylor dress. They lay flat so they don’t add more volume and bulk, plus they frame a lace bodice. The tiered hem adds a little extra flare as well. The fabric is also perfect for this hot Vegas heat!

To let the dress stand out, I kept the jewelry simple. I’m wearing a few gold rings and my engraved pendant from Stella & Dot (similar here). A pair of espadrilles and your favorite bag is all you need to complete the look!

Also, I get a lot of questions on my makeup, so I linked some of the products I used for this particular look. I’m currently digging  the new Burberry set I just received. I use the Burberry Fresh Glow Fluid Base as a primer, or I’ll mix it in with my MAC Pro Longwear Foundation. The Fresh Glow Highlighter also looks great on cheekbones and above the temples. For more of my makeup recommendations just scroll up and click on any of the pictures.

Love, Lindsey
