EASY WAYS TO ADD COLOR INTO YOUR WARDROBE

My favorite color is black. My next favorite is gray, followed by white. I ADORE neutrals, but since the weather is heating up I want to make a point to add more color into my wardrobe. I’ve even made a list of ways to do it without feeling like I’ve gone color-crazy. Read on for my tips…

OK… I’m calling this “The Wizard of Oz Project” because we’re going from a black and white world and venturing into a rainbow universe! But, you don’t have to dive into the deep end right away if you feel uncomfortable. Here are some ways to dip your toe into the wonderful world of color:

PICK ONE PIECE & LEAVE THE REST NEUTRAL

If the rest of your outfit is neutral – adding a colored skirt, pants, blouse, jacket, scarf/bandana or sweater can give you a nice pop of color. Red is one of my favorite colors to use when following this rule. Red paired with black, white, grey or camel just looks so chic!

ADD A COLORED BAG

A simple colored bag looks beautiful against a neutral pallet. For darker colors I recommend burgundy, emerald or plum. If you want to really make a statement try a red, pink, yellow or orange handbag. I really like this faux fur bag because it has so many colors in one! It’s more versatile than you think!

ROCK SOME EYE-CATCHING JEWELRY

Oversized colorful earrings are going to be really popular this spring (especially ones with tassels). They are the perfect pieces to give your outfit some extra pizzazz.  Just make sure to pull your hair bag so they can really pop. Bright bracelets are another way to add color to a fairly neutral outfit – and who doesn’t love some arm swag?

SLIP ON A BRIGHT SHOE

This is one of the easiest ways to add color to your outfit. Give your black and nude pumps a break and slip on a pair of vibrant heels. Not into heels? That’s totally fine! There are so many fun colored flats out there that would look great as well.

THE POLISH PICK-ME-UP

Blues, purples and greens aren’t just for the kiddos anymore. They look sophisticated when you’re nails are nicely manicured and they definitely make a statement. Even a simple red can make all the difference.

What’s YOUR favorite way to add color into your wardrobe? I’d love to know!

Love, Lindsey
