It took me awhile to jump on the micellar water train. I wasn’t sure what it did, so I immediately chalked it up to another beauty industry gimmick. Well… I was wrong. I’m not too proud to admit it! I’ve now been using micellar water for over two months, and have found multiple uses for it.  It really is such a multi-tasking product, and chances are you haven’t even tapped into it’s full potential yet!

1. MORNING CLEANSER

I don’t ever wash my face in the morning. If I do, my face feels dry for the rest of the day. Instead, I do a quick once-over with some micellar water on a cotton pad. No rinsing necessary!

2. REMOVE MAKEUP

Probably the most popular way to use micellar water is to use it as a makeup remover. It even gets my water-proof liquid eyeliner to come off! After I cleanse my face, I put some on a cotton pad and rub it all over my face, eyes and neck. No need to rinse again.

3. FIX MAKEUP MISTAKES

I love a winged liner, but it’s not always easy to get on the first try. To fix any mistakes, I pour some micellar water onto a Q-tip and it immediately becomes a makeup eraser. It’s also great for removing eyeshadow fallout.

4. FIX CRACKED POWDERS

You know the feeling when you buy a new bronzer or powder and drop it on the bathroom floor? Well, you don’t have to worry about that anymore. The next time this happens, throw a few drops of micellar water into the compact and press it with your finger until the cracks are gone. It’ll dry perfectly!

5. INCREASE EYESHADOW PIGMENTATION

Use just a tiny bit on your eyeshadow brush to increase the pigment of your eyeshadow. I like to use an eyeshadow primer as well just to make sure there’s no creasing.

6. CLEAN YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES

Micellar water removes makeup from your face, so why shouldn’t it do the same for your brushes? Put about two inches of it in a cup and swirl your brushes around in it. Wipe them clean with a paper towel and lay them on a flat surface to dry.

SHOP MICELLAR WATER

There are plenty of brands out there, but my favorite at the moment is Bioderma because it’s ideal for hypersensitive skin. It’s also rich in Vitamin E, which helps to sooth my easily irritated skin. Bonus: It comes in tiny travel-sized bottles too, which are perfect for traveling and TSA friendly.

Do you use micellar water? How do you incorporate it into your skincare regimen?
