WHAT I WORE

I picked up these high waisted plaid pants during one of my oh-my-gosh-how-did-I-spend-so-much-I-just-came-here-for-detergent Target trips. They’re by Who What Wear and I can already tell they’re going to be in HEAVY rotation over the next few months. If you’re ordering online, they do run large. I suggest ordering down a size.

I paired it with this ruffled blouse, also by Who What Wear. (Can you tell I love their new Target line? – See more of my faves here) I guess I’ve been feeling the working woman look lately. It’s probably because I’ve been looking like a hippie most of the summer. Time for a change! At least for this new season.

To finish off the look, I wore this classic quilted bag. To add a little edge (something I like to have with every outfit) I threw on some studded heels.

PLAID ON PLAID ON PLAID

Yes, plaid has been around for awhile. It actually started in Scotland, but at the time it went by the name “tartan”. It was only called “plaid” when British and Americans started using the print.

In more modern times, plaid was considered a hipster print. However, nowadays the print is available in a number of different styles and colors. Also, it was seen all over the New York Fashion Week Runways for A/W17.

I for one have been on the hunt for more plaid pieces to add to my wardrobe. Here’s a look at what I’ve had my eye on:
