Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day everyone! I hope you were able to take some time and enjoy the outdoors while maybe chowin’ down on some good… American… grub! Thanks to all the brave men and women who put their lives on the line for our country so we’re able to do those types of things. God Bless America!

a FLAT out RAINBOW by lindsey-simon

Anyone who know me, knows I LOVE my heels. But now that it’s getting closer to summertime, I’m leaning towards flats more and more. And for good reason! Flats aren’t what they used to be. It’s not just ballet and flip-flop styles anymore – and I think ladies everywhere should rejoice! Comfortable AND stylish? Yes please! So I’ve included a few of my faves that add a colorful punch to your outfit combined with a few neutral colors that you can wear with anything.

Another work day look with a little bit of color. These earrings always make me feel happy because I got them while at Bonnaroo back in college. I picked them up from someone who hand made them (I actually picked up TWO pair – I also have them in turquoise ūüėČ
As I’ve mentioned earlier on The Nomis Niche, I went with a bunch of my best friends and it was one of the best experiences of my life. We still talk about it to this day! I like to think of them as my go to pieces that always make me feel relaxed and carefree.
Do you have a go-to summer piece? Maybe an item that makes you feel a certain way? What is it? I’d love to know!

Work Outfit: Rachel Roy dress & leather jacket

¬†¬† I’ve realized that most Monday’s I wear all black. I’m pretty sure it’s my subconscious coming through saying “Mondays stink- so let’s dress for a funeral.” Regardless, I’m trying to incorporate more color. Dark colors at least. Baby steps right?
¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† Per usual, I’ve got my leather jacket close by. Despite it being close to 100 degrees, my office is freezing, so I always have some kind of jacket/blazer close by.

Mustard sweater and polka-dots

¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† Let me start by saying my boyfriend HATES these jeans. I mean… LOATHES them. So needless to say, I wear them every chance I get. Truthfully, I’d live in them if I could. They’re the comfiest pair I own, and I don’t care if they make my butt look like I’m wearing a frisbee as underwear!
I’m also coo-coo about this hat. I’ve already got my money’s worth out of it and I know I’ll be wearing it all throughout the summer.
Anyways – I hope you all have a FANTASTIC weekend – I won’t be posting for the next two days because we’re heading to Sequoia National Park. I admit, I am NOT a camper and have always said the only reason you’d find me hiking is if my plane crashed and I need to hike to civilization. I also believe that humans created cities to protect ourselves from nature. So, this should be interesting. But we’re going with great friends and it’s supposed to be gorgeous! At the very least – I know the conversation/laughs are going to be epic – and¬†the s’mores unforgettable (Even if I come back covered in sunburn and bug bites!)
Jeans: JCrew (old but these are similar )
Shoes: ZARA (old but found here )
Sweater / Blouse: Forever21 (also love this version of polka dot blouse)
